Climbing and safety notice
Last updated: 11 September 2026
Draft version. This text describes how Climb Tribute actually works today, but has not yet been reviewed by a legal professional and does not constitute legal advice.
Climbing, bouldering, multi-pitch, mountaineering and ice climbing are activities that carry a risk of serious injury or death. Climb Tribute is a collaborative information tool, not a safety guide.
This is a translation that still requires legal review. The French version prevails.
Place information may be wrong
Sheets for crags, boulders, gyms, shops and lodgings come from external sources (notably OpenStreetMap and official websites), from automated processing and from member contributions. They may be incomplete, inaccurate, outdated or simply wrong.
This is especially true for: exact location, approach, access and paths, wall orientation, grades, quality and condition of the equipment, crowds, weather and rock conditions.
Closures, regulations and access
A site may be closed permanently or temporarily: nesting, nature protection, private property, construction, objective danger, municipal or cantonal decision. Climb Tribute is not systematically aware of these closures, and the absence of a notice never means a site is open or permitted.
Always check the information with the appropriate sources: site managers, local clubs and sections, authorities, landowners, up-to-date guidebooks, access bulletins and avalanche bulletins depending on the season.
Your responsibility
Climb Tribute does not replace the judgement, training, experience, preparation, suitable equipment and skills your activity requires. You climb at your own risk and you alone decide whether to go or to turn back.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Climb Tribute cannot be held liable for damage resulting from the use of information published on the platform.
Help us correct it
Every sheet offers "Suggest an improvement" and "Report a problem". If you notice an access error, a closure or dangerous information, report it: corrections are reviewed before publication.
